Team finishes weekend tomorrow in Dubuque

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - Team USA outshot Cedar Rapids by a 35-30 margin on the road, but could only manage one score in a 6-1 loss to the RoughRiders Friday evening at ImOn Ice.

Cedar Rapids collected the lone goal of the opening 20 minutes off a redirection goal from Zaccharya Wisdom at 12:35 of the first. Dylan Hryckowian took the shot from the left point that Wisdom got a stick on in front and deflected it past Carsen Musser (Sherburn, Minn.) for a 1-0 RoughRiders lead.

Wisdom made it back-to-back scores for the Toronto native as he doubled the Cedar Rapids advantage at 6:37 of the second. He came down the left wing and slid a backhand shot in for his 12th score of the season.

Zion Green followed less than two minutes later after he took a cross-slot pass and fired into an empty net to make it a 3-0 game. Wisdom completed the hat-trick with 2:13 to play in the frame and make it 4-0 after 40 minutes.

The U.S. got on the board early in the third period thanks to an aggressive forecheck from Alex Weiermair (San Diego, Calif.). After the puck was dumped into the offensive zone, the Denver commit stole the puck off the stick of goaltender Bruno Bruveris, wheeled around the cage and put his backhand shot into the empty net.

Hryckowian collected an empty-net score and Wisdom added his fourth late in regulation to give Cedar Rapids a 6-1 win.

The Under-18 Team completes its two-game Iowa roadtrip tomorrow night as they take on the Dubuque Fighting Saints. Puck drop is set for 8:00 p.m. ET from Dubuque Ice Arena and can be streamed live on Flo Hockey.
