U18s Travel for Pair of College Matchups; U17s Return Home for USHL Play

Both teams coming off international first-places finishes; U18s faceoff against Niagara and RIT, U17s host Cedar Rapids

NTDP Notebook Week of Nov. 14-20

USA Hockey’s National Team Development Program enters play this weekend with a 30-5-0-1 (W-L-OTL-SOL) record after the U18s and U17s both swept tournament play en route to each team placing first. The U18s gathered four wins last week at the U18 Five Nations Tournament at USA Hockey Arena. Will Smith (Lexington, Mass.) and Gabe Perreault (Hinsdale, Ill.) led the tournament with nine points each, followed by Aram Minnetian (Woodcliff Lake, N.J.) right behind with eight points. Team USA went 4-0-0-0 and outscored their opponents 29-8.

The U17s also took care of business at the 2022 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge, taking home first place with a perfect 7-0-0-0 record. James Hagens (Hauppauge, N.Y.) led the tournament and set a new all-time points record at the tournament with 21 points (8G, 13A) while Cole Eiserman (Newburyport, Mass.) was right behind with 20 points (12G, 8A). Eiserman's 12 goals tied Alex Ovechkin's all-time goal record at the tournament. The U17s outscored its opposition 50-15 throughout the seven games.

The U18s continue the Kroger College Series and make their way to New York to play against Niagara Friday night (Nov. 18) at 7:00 p.m. ET, followed by RIT the following day (Nov. 19) at 5:00 p.m. ET.

The Cedar Rapids RoughRiders visit USA Hockey Arena for the first time this season for a weekend series starting Friday night (Nov. 18) at 7:00 p.m. ET, followed by a Saturday night game (Nov. 19) with faceoff set for 7:00 p.m. ET.

Team USA USHL Record: 7-2-0-1 (W-L-OTL-SOL) with 15 PTS in 10 GP, 2nd place in the Eastern Conference
