Team USA looks to extend impressive start to season

NTDP Notebook Week of Oct. 24-30

USA Hockey’s National Team Development Program enters play this weekend with a 16-5-0-0 (W-L-OTL-SOL) record after the U18s swept its weekend college series on the road and the U17s took its single home win. On Friday night, the U18s came from behind to beat RPI, 7-4, as Will Smith (Lexington, Mass.) tallied four points in the win. Back in Michigan, the U17s also came from behind as Cole Eiserman (Newburyport, Mass.) netted the game-tying goal with less than :30 to go in regulation to force overtime. James Hagens (Hauppauge, N.Y.) capped off his hat trick in overtime with the game-winning goal. Sunday, the U18s traveled to West Point to take on Army for a thrilling 7-6 overtime win as Smith potted the game winner, extending his point streak to 12 games.

The U17s are off while the U18s play a pair against the Youngstown Phantoms at USA Hockey Arena Thursday afternoon (Oct. 27) at 3:00 p.m. ET, followed by Friday night (Oct. 28) at 7:00 p.m. ET.

Overall Record: U18: 11-1-0-0 | U17: 5-4-0-0 (W-L-OTL-SOL)

Team USA USHL Record: 5-2-0-0 (W-L-OTL-SOL) with 10 PTS in seven GP, 3rd place in the Eastern Conference
