PLYMOUTH, Mich. - Ryan Leonard (Amherst, Mass.) and Cole Eiserman (Newburyport, Mass.) scored a pair of goals apiece to help lead the U.S. National Under-18 Team to a 6-2 win over Michigan Tech Saturday night at USA Hockey Arena.

The win marked the eighth straight for the U18s, extending the longest ever win streak for a U18 team to begin a season in NTDP history.

Team USA started strong with a pair of goals in the opening period, the first from U17 forward Cole Eiserman (Newburyport, Mass.). Paul Fischer (River Forest, Ill.) found Eiserman in the neutral zone where the forward dangled a Huskies defender and put a wrister on cage. The puck went off Max Vayrynen's shoulder and into the net for a 1-0 lead.

Ryan Leonard (Amherst, Mass.) doubled the U18 advantage with a power-play goal at 12:42 of the period. Off the draw, Zeev Buium (San Diego, Calif.) found Will Smith (Lexington, Mass.) at the right point. Smith took a stride in before feeding Leonard with a cross-ice pass, where he hammered his one-timer for his eighth goal in eight games.

The Under-18 Team added their third of the night 66 seconds into the middle period. Gabe Perreault (Hinsdale, Ill.) and Danny Nelson (Maple Grove, Minn.) battled for the puck below the goal line before Perreault emerged with it and fed Will Vote (Arlington, Mass.) for a one-timer from the slot.

Oliver Moore (Mounds View, Minn.) made it four in a row for the home team as he netted on a back-door feed from Nelson. The Notre Dame commit wheeled around the net as he whipped the pass in front of the net. The rubber deflected off of Vote's stick before Moore found it for the easy tap-in.

Nick Nardella got Michigan Tech on the board with a one-timer from the slot to make it 4-1 game after 40 minutes.

Leonard made it a multi-goal effort after he converted less than a minute into the third on a similar play as his first marker. Smith toured the offensive zone and found Leonard stationed at the left circle, where he buried his one-timer. Perreault picked up the secondary assist to give him and Smith multi-assist nights.

After Tech got a score back from Ryland Mosley, Eiserman netted his second of the game for the 6-2 final. Alex Weiermair (Los Angeles, Calif.) found Charlie Cerrato (Fallston, Md.) below the net, who made a pretty pass to Eiserman alone in front.

Carsen Musser (Sherburn, Minn.) went the distance in net for Team USA and made 16 saves on the night to extend his winning streak to four straight starts.

The U18s continue the Kroger College Series next weekend with a pair of contests in Minnesota, taking on St. Thomas and Bethel Universities.
