U18s open home portion of Kroger College Series with Lake Superior State and Michigan Tech

NTDP Notebook Week of Oct. 3-9

USA Hockey’s National Team Development Program enters play this weekend with a 9-3-0-0 (W-L-OTL-SOL) record after the U18s swept its weekend games against DI NCAA opponents, and the U17s split in its first USHL matchups. On Friday night, the U17s fell to the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders, 8-3. The U17s took the rematch Saturday night by a final score of 6-3, led by a two-goal, one-assist night from James Hagens (Hauppauge, N.Y.). The U18s started its weekend college series Saturday night with a win over Michigan State, 4-3, with help from a pair of goals by Will Smith (Lexington, Mass.). The U18s crossed the Michigan border into Indiana Sunday afternoon and took down Notre Dame, 5-3, for its sixth-straight win.

The U18s open up play at home this weekend and are set to face off against Lake Superior State on Friday night at 7:00 p.m. ET, followed by a matchup against the Michigan Tech Huskies on Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. ET, all inside USA Hockey Arena
