Twenty-Two NTDP Players and Alums Named to Final NHL Central Scouting Rankings

Cooley, Gauthier and Howard land in top-10

PLYMOUTH, Mich. - Nineteen members of the 2021-22 U.S. National Under-18 Team and three NTDP alums were named to the National Hockey League Central Scouting's Final Rankings ahead of the 2022 NHL Draft, set to take place July 7-8 at the Bell Centre in Montreal. 

Forward Logan Cooley (Pittsburgh, Pa.) was the highest-rated NTDP player as he maintained his second overall ranking from the mid-season report. Cutter Gauthier (Scottsdale, Ariz.) climbed to the third overall spot while Isaac Howard (Hudson, Wis.) rounded out the NTDP's top-10 skaters in ninth. 

Also in the top-30 rankings of North American skaters, indicating a possible first-round selection in the draft, were forwards Jimmy Snuggerud (Chaska, Minn.) at 11th overall, Frank Nazar III (Mount Clemens, Mich.) at 21st and Rutger McGroarty (Lincoln, Neb.) right behind at 22.

The defensemen ranked in that range were Ryan Chesley (Mahtomedi, Minn.) at 18th overall, followed by Lane Hutson (North Barrington, Ill.) at 25th and Seamus Casey (Fort Myers, Fla.) at 29th overall on the report. 

Forward Cruz Lucius (Grant, Minn.), who received an LV (limited viewing) ranking in the midseason report, found his name at 41 after returning from injury and a strong finish to the year, while Devin Kaplan (Bridgewater, N.J.) climbed to 61st on the rankings. 

Team USA continued its representation with Charlie Leddy (Fairfield, Conn.) at 117, closely followed by Cole Spicer (Grand Forks, N.D.) at 121, Brady Berard (East Greenwich, R.I.) at 138th, Marek Hejduk (Parker, Colo.) at 159, Seamus Powell (Marcellus, N.Y.) at 169 and Tyler Duke (Strongsville, Ohio) rounding out the skaters with the 201st ranking. 

In the cage, both eligible NTDP goaltenders were ranked highly among North American netminders as Dylan Silverstein (Calabasas, Calif.) finished at third and Tyler Muszelik (Long Valley, N.J.) moved up to fourth on the final listing. 

In addition, three NTDP alums were named to the final report. Jack Hughes (NTDP 2019-21/Northeastern University) finished with the 26th ranking among North American skaters, Jack Devine (NTDP 2019-21/University of Denver) came in at 65th and Maddox Fleming (NTDP 2020-22/Sioux Falls Stampede) was ranked 200th. 

Nine more players who have appeared for the National Team Development Program were included in the rankings: Cam Lund, Jake Livanavage, Ryan Healey, Jackson Dorrington, Brennan Ali, Cole Knuble, Michael Callow, Jack Harvey and Cade Littler.
