USA Hockey’s National Team Development Program enters the weekend with a combined 51-23-1-4-0 (W-L-OTL-SOL-T) record following a jam-packed week of USHL games. The U18s opened the slate with a weekday contest against Muskegon, falling 7-6, despite a hat trick from Chaz Lucius (Grant, Minn.). The U18s bounced back with a 4-3 shootout victory over the Chicago Steel on Sunday, with Roman Schmidt (Midland, Mich.) once again providing the heroics with a made penalty shot. Also in action last weekend, the U.S. National Under-17 Team split a series against the Dubuque Fighting Saints, winning a 5-4 shootout before falling 10-2 in the series finale. The U17s then faced Green Bay on the road in a single Saturday contest, where the team fell 4-2.
The U.S. National Under-18 Team takes on the Muskegon Lumberjacks in a trio of games this week, two of which will be played at USA Hockey Arena. The teams will square off at home both Wednesday and Saturday, and Saturday's contest will serve as senior/billet night for the U18s as they compete in their final home game of the regular season. Both games are slated for 7 p.m. ET starts.
