USA Hockey's National Team Development Program was well represented throughout college hockey's awards season as 23 program alums were recognized in some fashion by their respective conferences.

Forward Cole Caufield (2017-19/University of Wisconsin) and goaltender Spencer Knight (2017-19/Boston College) each took home their conference's player of the year awards. Caufield, a sophomore for the Badgers, led the nation in both goals scored (28) and total points (49), netting 10 more goals than the next closest skater. Caufield is the first NTDP alum to win the B1G Player of the Year since the award was first handed out in 2014 and was the lone unanimous selection on the 1st Team All Big Ten team.

Knight, also a sophomore for the Golden Eagles, finished the year with a 16-3-1 record in 20 games played, with a 2.13 goals-against average and .933 save percentage, ranking first among all Hockey East netminders with at least 1,000 minutes played in net. Knight is the second NTDP goaltender to win Hockey East's top player after Thatcher Demko took home the award in 2015. Knight was also the goalie representative on the All Hockey East 1st Team.

Defenseman Cam York (2017-19/University of Michigan) capped his tremendous sophomore campaign by being named the Big Ten's Defensive Player of the Year as well as being selected to the conference's All-1st Team.

Two other Wolverines were recognized as freshmen Thomas Bordeleau (2018-20) took home B1G Freshman of the Year as well as being selected to the conference's All-2nd Team and Matty Beniers (2018-20) made the league's All-Freshman Team.

Staying in the Big Ten, defenseman Brock Faber (2018-20/University of Minnesota) and goaltender Cameron Rowe (2017-19/University of Wisconsin) made the All-Freshman Team, giving the NTDP four representatives of the six players named.

Notre Dame junior defenseman Spencer Stastney (2016-18) was named 2nd Team All B1G. Teammate Matt Hellickson (2014-16) and Michigan State captain Tommy Miller (2015-17) were both recipients of the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award. Minnesota senior forward Scott Reedy (2015-17), Wisconsin defenseman Ty Emberson (2016-18) and Michigan State goaltender Drew DeRidder (2017-18) were given honorable mention to all-league selection.

After the conclusion of the Hockey East season, it was many more than Knight to take home some hardware. Knight's teammate Matthew Boldy (2017-19/Boston College), the ninth overall selection in the 2019 NHL Draft to the Minnesota Wild and Hockey East's leading point producer this season, was named First Team All Hockey East. Joining him on the team was BC defenseman Drew Helleson (2017-19), also named the league's best defensive defenseman, and Boston University senior d-man David Farrance (NTDP 2015-17), who led all skaters with 1.60 points-per-game.

For the HEA rookies, Boston University forward Luke Tuch (2018-20) was the lone unanimous selection to the All-Rookie team after he produced 10 points in 15 games for the Terriers. He was joined by teammate Drew Commesso (2018-20) in net and Boston College defenseman Eamon Powell (2018-20).

Out west, two NTDP alums were recognized at the end of the NCHC season, both from the league-winning North Dakota Fighting Hawks. Goaltender Adam Scheel (2015-17) was named Goaltender of the Year and 1st Team All NCHC after posting a 19-3-1 record in 24 games. He was joined by defenseman Jake Sanderson (2018-20), who was selected to the NCHC All-Rookie Team.

Forward Ty Smilanic (2018-20/Quinnipiac University) was named to the ECAC All-Rookie Team and was a Rookie of the Year finalist after leading the nation among all first-year players with 14 goals.

Randy Hernandez (2015-17/Robbert Morris University) was selected to the Atlantic Hockey All-Rookie Team after posting 25 points in 24 games this season to round out the NTDP honorees.

In addition to league honors, four NTDP alums were named top-10 finalists for the Hobey Baker Award, given to the top player in the nation: Matthew Boldy, Cole Caufield, David Farrance and Spencer Knight. Five previous NTDP alums have taken home the award: Jordan Leopold (2002/University of Minnesota), Kevin Porter (2008/University of Michigan), Blake Geoffrion (2010/University of Wisconsin), Jack Eichel (2015/Boston University) and Will Butcher (2017/University of Denver).
