PLYMOUTH, Mich. - Eamon Powell (Marcellus, N.Y.) tied the game and Owen Gallatin (White Bear Lake, Minn.) scored the game-winner as the U.S. Under-18 National Team rallied in the third to beat the Youngstown Phantoms, 5-4, Thursday night at USA Hockey Arena.
Down 4-3 to begin the third, Powell scored a power-play goal off a cross-ice feed from Thomas Bordeleau (Houston, Texas) at 6:15 to knot the game at 4-4. Gallatin's tally less than three minutes later was the difference, as the Minnesota-Duluth commit knocked home a rebound off a three-man rush with Bordeleau and Jake Sanderson (Whitefish, Mont.) to seal the deal for the U18s.

Jake Suede scored 2:26 into the contest to give the Phantoms an early 1-0 lead.
Sean Behrens (Barrington, Ill.) tied the game on the power play for Team USA at 10:54 when he skated into a pass from Dylan Peterson (Roseville, Calif.) at the bottom of the left circle and popped his shot top-shelf behind Youngstown's Colin Purcell. Jacob Truscott (Port Huron, Mich.) earned the secondary assist on Behrens' first goal as a member of the U18s.
The Phantoms used back-to-back power-play goals as the period wound down to take a 3-1 lead into the first intermission.
The U18s answered with two quick goals of their own to knot the game at 3-3 just minutes into the second.
Tanner Latsch (Muskegon, Mich.) started things off with a beautiful, shorthanded tally at 1:44 to cut into Youngstown's lead. Coming into the zone on a 2-on-1, Latsch pulled up, spun off a Phantoms defender and ripped a backhander from the right circle for his 7th goal of the year. Zakary Karpa (Newport Beach, Calif.) and Brock Faber (Maple Grove, Minn.) collected the assists on Latsch's goal.
Luke Tuch (Baldwisville, N.Y.) struck with a goal of his own less than a minute later to bring the U18s back to even. Tuch took an end-around pass from Behrens behind the net, skated around the cage and snuck one short-side past Purcell for his 15th of the season. Bordeleau picked up the secondary helper on the goal.
Youngstown scored late in the second to go ahead, 4-3, heading into the final period.
Powell showed Team USA's resolve when he buried a cross-ice feed from Bordeleau on the power play at 6:15 of the third to tie the game once more.
Gallatin's second goal of the season capped the scoring to give the U18s their ninth win in the last 10 USHL games.
Drew Commesso (Norwell, Mass.) earned his 18th victory in net as he turned aside 22 Youngstown shots.
The U18s are off for the remainder of the weekend but pick back up with two games in Madison next weekend. The Under-17 Team finishes a three-game weekend set at USA Hockey Arena beginning tomorrow evening against the Waterloo Black Hawks.
