The U.S. National Under-17 Team defeated Sweden this morning, 3-2 in their second game at the Under-17 Five Nations tournament.

Sweden took an early 1-0 lead at 5:59 of the first period on a power-play goal and kept the lead through the first intermission.

Jack Devine (Glencoe, Ill.) sent the puck in on a one-timer from Sean Behrens (Barrington, Ill.) and Luke Hughes (Manchester, N.H.) at 2:15 of the second period to tie the game 1-1. Team USA’s goal was also a power-play marker.

Sweden re-took the one-goal lead with six minutes remaining in the second period after pushing in a rebound at the goal mouth.

Team USA thought it had the equalizer late in the second but the goal was called back after review.
