PLYMOUTH, Mich. - Dylan Duke (Strongsville, Ohio) and Sasha Pastujov (Bradenton, Fla.) scored but the U.S. National Under-17 Team fell for the second straight night to the Lincoln Stars, 5-2, at USA Hockey Arena.
The Stars jumped out to a 2-0 lead after the first period from goals by Josh Groll and Matt Barbolini, but Pastujov converted on a Lincoln turnover to make it 2-1 at 8:18 of the second. While shorthanded, the 6-foot forward intercepted a pass from Stars goalie, Jacob Mucitelli, and netted from the blueline for his 13th goal of the season.
Duke tied the game up with 21 seconds remaining in the middle frame when he converted on a beautiful feed from Jeremy Wilmer (Rockville Centre, N.Y.) for his 26th goal of the season.
The Stars added on three goals in the final period of regulation from Travis Treloar, Matt Miller and Groll's second of the night.
Goaltender Gibson Homer (Grand Rapids, Mich.) made 30 saves for Team USA.
The U17s head out on the road for a trio of games next week, starting Thursday night starting at Mystique Community Ice Center in Dubuque.
