SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The U.S. National Under-17 Team ended their road trip tonight, falling to the Sioux Falls Stampede, 2-1.
Dylan Duke (Strongsville, Ohio) netted his 24th goal of the year at the 9:40 mark of the first period to open the night’s scoring. Sasha Pastujov (Bradenton, Fla.) kept the puck in the zone before sending it to Chaz Lucius (Grant, Minn.) on the left side. Lucius sent a cross-ice pass to Duke who was waiting at the goal-mouth to tap it in.
Sioux Falls evened the score just over two minutes into the second period while on the power play.
Ryan Sullivan got the go-ahead for the Stampede at 4:03 of the third period, sending in a wrister from the left dot while on the man-advantage.
The U17s went 0-for-3 on the power play while Sioux Falls went 2-for-6. Gibson Homer (Grand Rapids, Mich.) made 23 saves in the loss.
