U17s sweep weekend; U18s split NCAA contests

U17s Win Back-to-Back Games With 9-2 Victory Over Youngstown (Oct. 25)

PLYMOUTH, Mich. - The U.S. National Under-17 Team used points from 13 different skaters to push past the Youngstown Phantoms, 9-2, Friday evening at USA Hockey Arena. Forwards Jack Hughes (Westwood, Mass.) and Justin Janicke (Maple Grove, Minn.) led the way with a goal and two assists each.

U18s Fall in Weekend Opener to Cornell (Oct. 26)

ITHACA, N.Y. - The U.S. National Under-18 Team fell to the Cornell Big Red, 3-0, Saturday evening at Lynah Rink in New York in their first of two matchups on the weekend.

U17s Win Third Straight With 5-4 OT Victory (Oct. 26)

Chaz Lucius (Grant, Minn.) scored with less than 90 seconds remaining in overtime to give the U.S. National Under-17 team its third consecutive win, 5-4, over the Dubuque Fighting Saints. 

Justin Janicke (Maple Grove, Minn.) led the 2-on-1 break for Team USA and slid a pass to Lucius as they entered the offensive zone. The University of Minnesota commit roofed his wrister over Erik Portillo's shoulder to give the U17s their second overtime win in the last three games.

U18s Take Down Canisius, 3-1 (Oct. 27)

BUFFALO, N.Y. - Drew Commesso (Norwell, Mass.) made 20 saves and three different USA skaters scored as the U.S. National Under-18 Team defeated Canisius College, 3-1 Sunday afternoon at HarborCenter.
