U17s Fall to Fargo Force 4-2

U17s back in action vs Force tomorrow (April 6)

FARGO, N.D. -- Hunter Strand (Anchorage, Alaska) and Danny Weight (Lattingtown, N.Y.) scored and Noah Grannan (Germantown, Wis.) made 38 saves, but the U.S. National Under-17 Team ultimately fell 4-2 to the Fargo Force Friday night at Scheels Arena.

Strand opened up the scoring on the power play at 12:55 when he collected the rebound out front off an Eamon Powell (Marcellus, N.Y.) shot from the top of the right circle.

The Force responded shortly after with two power-play goals with 5:22 and 3:11 remaining, before concluding the period with another goal at 2:28 remaining.

Grannan stood tall throughout the second frame, stopping all 12 shots faced.

Fargo furthered its lead to 4-1 when they scored at 7:54, before Weight scored with a wrist shot through traffic with 7:17 remaining, accounting for the 4-2 final.

NOTES: Team USA went 1-for-5 on the power play and 2-for-4 on the penalty kill.
