STRIVE FOR FIVE: Forward Will Smith (Lexington, Mass.) is the lone U18 skater to record a point in every game thus far as he looks to extend his point streak and help push the team's win streak to five straight.

The Boston College commit kicked off the season with a trio of assists in Muskegon, followed that up with a goal apiece in the next two games and added a three-point effort in Sunday's win over Waterloo.

Both of Smith's tallies in the single-point performances were game-winning goals, including the overtime winner in a 3-2 win over Omaha at the USHL Fall Classic.

Smith was the leading scorer for the 2005 group last season, finishing the year with 31 goals and 33 assists for 64 points in 63 games split between the U17 and U18 squads. Smith ended the season as a member of the U.S. National Under-18 Team that won a silver medal at U18 Worlds in Germany.

ALMA MATTERS: U18 netminder Trey Augustine (South Lyon, Mich.) will square off against his future team when the Under-18 Team matches up against Michigan State on Saturday evening.

The future Spartan has already appeared in a pair of games for the U18s, winning both starts and playing to a 2.50 goals-against average and .911 save percentage.

Over the 2021-22 season, Augustine saw action in 32 total games while compiling a 15-10-0 record, 2.92 GAA and .903 SV%. He appeared in nine games with the Under-18 Team, including five at the 2022 Under-18 Men's World Championship in Germany.

On the following day, U18 forwards Carter Slaggert (South Bend, Ind.) and Danny Nelson (Maple Grove, Minn.), and defenseman Paul Fischer (River Forest, Ill.) will all suit up against their future school.

Fischer has four points (1g-3a) in four games from the blue line while Nelson has added three (1g-2a) and Slaggert's +2 rating ranks second on the squad through four games played.

WELCOME TO THE LEAGUE: The U.S. National Under-17 Team makes its USHL debut this weekend with their pair of contests in Cedar Rapids.

The U17s played four games against NAHL opponents to open the season, but will dive into the USHL schedule for the first time in their careers.

The Under-17 and Under-18 Teams compete as a combined Team USA in the USHL's Eastern Conference. They will look to enter the Clark Cup Playoffs this season for the first time since the 2018-19 campaign.

COLLEGE KICKOFF: Opening Weekend at USA Hockey Arena is quickly approaching and fans can go home with souvenirs, giveaways and player autographs.
