OMAHA LANCERS:  The Lancers skated in a league-high six preseason contests, finishing the exhibition slate with a 1-5-0 record and come into this weekend's matchup off a 6-3 loss to the Lincoln Stars on Saturday.

Arizona State commit Matthew Romer, who skated with Team USA for a pair of games against the Sun Devils in the 2020-21 season, led the Lancers with two goals and two assists in five preseason games played.

Forwards Alex Bump, Andon Cerbone, Evan Werner and Will Diamond, along with defenseman Tucker Shedd, all added a goal and an assist throughout the six games.

Omaha split its six games between four netminders as Michael Hrabal, Ben Behrens and Claudio Ardellini saw action in a pair of games each and Kevin Pasche rounded out the group, seeing one game between the pipes.

Hrabal led the foursome with a 2.52 GAA and .923 SV% while Behrens matched the .923 with a 3.00 goals-against average.

The game will be the first matchup between Omaha and Team USA since the NTDP U18s skated to a  2-1 win at the 2018 USHL Fall Classic.

WATERLOO BLACK HAWKS: The Waterloo Black Hawks finished their exhibition slate with a 3-2-0 record, peeling off three straight wins to end the preseason.

The team was led in scoring by Gavyn Thoreson (3g-1a), Gavin O'Connell (2g-2a) and Nicolas DeGraves (1g-3a), who eached picked up four points across the five games.

Defensemen Patrick Geary and Tyler Procious led the way from the blue line, picking up three helpers apiece to lead the team.

A trio of goalies all appeared in two games for the Black Hawks. Emmett Croteau stopped 38 of 40 shots in two full games of action, including a shutout in a 5-0 win over Cedar Rapids.

Jack Spicer played to a 2.78 GAA and .879 SV% in his two games while Owen Millward finished the exhibition schedule with a 3.42 GAA and .828 SV%.

Team USA has not seen the Black Hawks since February 28, 2020, a 5-1 win for Waterloo at USA Hockey Arena.
