SOO EAGLES: The Eagles are coming off a three-win weekend and take a four-game overall winning streak into the two games. Their overall record sits at 7-2-1 record through their first 10 games. 

The Soo is led by forwards Chase Tallaire and Jack Mortson offensively. Tallaire has averaged a goal-per-game and leads the team with 14 points (10g-4a) in 10 games. Mortson follows for the Eagles with 11 points (6g-5a) so far on the season.

The team has a trio of impressive defenseman in Nicholas Castillo (3g-5a in 10 games), Trevor Davis (0g-8a in 10 games) and Dylan Bachalo (1g-6a in 7 games). 

In the cage, Ryan Gilmore and Gabe Rosek have split time evenly for the Eagles. Gilmore owns a 3-1-0 record with a 2.50 GAA and .933 SV%. Rosek has performed well with a 3-1-1 record, 2.58 GAA and .927 SV%. 

CORNELL BIG RED: The Big Red blanked Princeton, 5-0, Saturday evening in its lone action of the year thus far. Cornell used a pair of goals from junior forward Matt Stienburg and tallies from Ben Berard, Kyle Betts and Justin Ertel to take down the Tigers. 

Cornell used a goalie per period as Nate McDonald, Ian Shane and Joe Howe all played a period of shutout hockey. Howe led the way with seven of the combined 14-save shutout. 

The Big Red are back in action after sitting out the 2020-21 campaign due to COVID-19. In 2019-20, the Big Red were impressive as they skated to a 23-2-4 overall record, including a 3-0 win against the U18s. 

MERCYHURST LAKERS: The Lakers have played to a 1-2-1 record through four games this season after a win and a tie against the Holy Cross Crusaders last weekend. After skating to a 4-4 tie on Friday evening, Mercyhurst picked up its first win of the campaign with a 5-2 win. 

Sophomore center Carson Briere leads Merchyhurst with seven goals and eight total points through the team's first four games. Dante Sherriff's six assists leads the Lakers and his seven total points sits second on the team.

Hank Johnson and Kyle McClellan have split time in net for MU, both taking two games so far. Johnson has a 1-1-0 record with a 4.50 GAA and .868 SV% while McClellan sports an 0-1-1 record, 4.37 GAA and .864 SV% on the year. 

The NTDP and Lakers have matched up twice previously, both wins for Mercyhurst: 3-1 in 2010 and an 8-7 thriller in 2006.
