COOLER THAN COOLEY: U18 forward Logan Cooley (Pittsburgh, Pa.) had his early-season coming out party in the U18s 8-3 win over Muskegon last weekend.

The Unviersity of Notre Dame commit picked up four points with a pair of goals and added two assists on the evening. Cooley made an excellent play that led to his first tally, forcing a turnover on an attempted Lumberjacks breakout and spinning around for a quick five-hole shot to give Team USA a 1-0 lead early in the first.

Cooley now has seven points in his first five games on the season after notching 46 (20g-26a) in his U17 season.

ON THE BOARD: A trio of Under-18 defenseman picked up their first points of the season in last weekend's win at USA Hockey Arena.

Seamus Powell (Marcellus, N.Y.) had a key stretch-pass that led to a Marek Hejduk (Parker, Colo.) goal late in the second period to pick up his first point of the year. He later added a power-play assist on a power-play goal from Kaden Muir (Manchester, N.H.), whose marker was his first point of the season and second career NTDP goal after missing the majority of last season with an injury.

Charlie Leddy (Fairfield, Conn.) made an impressive defensive-zone clear up the boards to pick up the secondary apple on Team USA's second goal of the game as the future Boston College Eagle put his name on the scoresheet for the first time this season.

DOUBLE DIGIT DUTY: The race to double-digit points on the U18 team ended in a three-way tie as three forwards sit atop the points leaders with 10 apiece. Jimmy Snuggerud (Chaska, Minn.) leads the team with three power-play goals and seven assists to create his 10 points on the season.

Rutger McGroarty (Lincoln, Neb.) has four goals and six assists for 10 points after a multi-point effort Saturday evening and Frank Nazar III (Mount Clemens, Mich.) picked up an assist to give him 10 points with five goals and five assists on the season.

SHOOT YOUR SHOT: The Under-17 Team will need to focus on putting more shots on net to break back into the win column. The U17s have been outshot in all eight games they've played this season and yet to eclipse the 30-shot plateau

Oliver Moore (Mounds View, Minn.) has a team-high 15 shots on the year, while forwards Ryan Leonard (Amherst, Mass.)  and Austin Burnevik (Blaine, Minn.) follow with 13 and 10, each.
