DUBUQUE FIGHTING SAINTS: The U.S. National Under-18 Team faces off against the Dubuque Fighting Saints in a rematch from last weekend's contest between the two teams.
The U.S. skated to an 8-2 loss against the Fighting Saints on Sunday. Jeremy Wilmer (Rockville Centre, N.Y.) scored and Chaz Lucius (Grant, Minn.) tallied his fifth goal in four games in the loss.
Prior to that, the two teams last met in December, splitting a two-game set. The U18s won the series opener, 4-1, before falling 6-5 in the series finale. Sasha Pastujov (Bradenton, Fla.) notched five goals in the series to lead the U.S. scoring effort.
The Fighting Saints enter the weekend 13-16-2-0 in league play.
CHICAGO STEEL: The U18s round out Team USA's weekend at home with a Sunday matinee against the Chicago Steel. The two teams most recently faced off two weekends ago when the U.S. defeated the Steel, 5-4, at USA Hockey Arena. Four different skaters tallied goals in the win, and Gibson Homer (Grand Rapids, Mich.) made 20 stops in goal for the U.S.
The Steel are the top-ranked team in the USHL's Eastern Conference with a 24-8-3-0 record. Chicago skaters take up the top four spots in league scoring this season, with former NTDP forward Sean Farrell claiming the top spot with 20 goals, 47 assists and 67 points in 34 games.
