PLAYOFFS BOUND: With its 7-4 win against the Des Moines Buccaneers on Saturday, Mar. 23, Team USA clinched a playoff spot to compete in the Clark Cup Playoffs for the second-consecutive season. This will mark the fourth time that Team USA has competed in postseason competition.

In the 2017-18 postseason, Team USA won three out of four games in the Eastern Conference First Round Series against the Chicago Steel to move on to face the Youngstown Phantoms, who eliminate Team USA in the Eastern Conference Semifinal.

NEW NUMBER ONE: The U.S. National Under-18 Team’s 8-1 victory against the Youngstown Phantoms on Saturday, Mar. 30, set the scene for another NTDP record.

Cam York (Anaheim, Calif.) scored to secure the sole-possession spot for most career points as a defenseman in NTDP franchise history with 87 points, passing Jack Johnson’s (NTDP 2003-05) previous record.

30 GOALS: NTDP alumni Dylan Larkin (2012-14) reached a 30-goal milestone on Thursday, Mar. 28, in the Detroit Red Wings’ 5-4 overtime win against the Buffalo Sabres. Larkin is the first Red Wing in 10 years to score 30 goals in one season. The last time was in 2008-09, when four Red Wings tallied 30 or more goals on the season: Pavel Datsyuk, Marian Hossa, Johan Franzen, and Henrik Zetterberg.

FIRST NHL POINT: NTDP alumni Quinn Hughes (2015-17) made his NHL debut with the Vancouver Canucks on Thursday, Mar. 28 against the Los Angeles Kings. Hughes tallied his first career point, assisting on Brock Boeser’s goal, which the Canucks went on to win 3-2 in a shootout. Hughes was named the third star of the game.

PLAYER FEATURE: Chase Yoder followed his dreams to Michigan to play for the NTDP. The Texas native grew up admiring the Dallas Stars and Michigan native Mike Modano. Read the full story here.
