Landon Slaggert (South Bend, Ind.), Hunter McKown (San Jose, Calif.), and Ryder Rolston (Birmingham, Mich.) scored one apiece in the U.S. National Under-17 Team’s 4-3 shootout loss to the Youngstown Phantoms on Friday, Mar. 29. The shootout spanned across seven rounds, ultimately won by the Phantoms. Noah Grannan (Germantown, Wis,) and Drew Commesso (Norwell, Mass.) made a combined 23 saves in net.

Rolston, Luke Tuch (Baldwinsville, N.Y.) and Dylan Peterson (Roseville, Calif.) scored one goal each, but the U17s fell 4-3 to the Phantoms on Sunday, Mar. 31. Grannan competed hard in the final minutes, stopping multiple Youngstown shots on net, but was beat with 1.5 seconds left in regulation to account for the 4-3 final. Commesso started in net for Team USA and stopped 15 of 16 shots faced in 31:19. Grannan saved 12 of 15 shots faced in the remaining 28:41.
