USHL HONORS: Jack Hughes earned USHL Forward of the Week for his performance against the Lincoln Stars on Friday (Mar. 8) and Saturday (Mar. 9).

Hughes scored twice and added an assist on Friday in Lincoln before added his third goal and second helper of the weekend on Saturday as the U.S. National Under-18 Team earned a split with a 9-3 victory over the Stars.

This is Hughes' third weekly award of his USHL career, as he was previously named Forward of the Week on Jan. 22, 2018 and Mar. 12, 2018. Read the full release here.

MOVING UP: NTDP alumni Quinn Hughes signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Vancouver Canucks. Hughes spent the past two years with the Michigan Wolverines, and tallied 62 total points as a collegiate athlete, with 33 of the points (5G, 28A) recorded in his sophomore year.

BIG TEN AWARDS: Two NTDP alumni are in the running of the Big Ten Hockey Individual Awards for the 2018-19 season, with winners set to be announced on Mar. 19.

Quinn Hughes (NTDP 2015-17; Michigan Wolverines) is one of three finalists nominated for Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year. The former Wolverines defenseman registered the most points on the team with 33 (5G, 28A) in 32 games played.

K’Andre Miller (NTDP 2016-18; University of Wisconsin) was named as a finalist for Freshman of the Year. Miller recorded 22 points (5G, 17A) in 26 games played.

Additionally, two coaches with USA Hockey and NTDP ties were nominated for Coach of the Year: Bob Motzko, head coach of the gold medal winning 2017 U.S. National Junior Team and bronze medal winning 2018 U.S. National Junior Team, as well as the assistant coach of the 2014 U.S. National Junior Team, and Jeff Jackson, the former head coach of the National Team Development Program from 1997-00, and head coach of the silver medal-winning U.S. Junior National Team in the 1997 World Junior Championships.

NHL STAR: NTDP alumni Troy Terry (NTDP 2014-15) was named the NHL’s third star of the week for his performance in the past four games, recording seven points (2G, 5A). Terry has tallied four goals and six assists in 23 games this season as a Ducks rookie.

FRANCHISE RECORD BOOK: Patrick Kane’s performance on Mar. 7 against the Buffalo Sabres earned him sole possession of fourth place all-time scoring with the Blackhawks franchise. Kane’s 924th point career point led him past Steve Lermer’s original No. 4 placeholder with 923 points.

Stan Mikita possesses the No. 1 spot with 1,467 career points with the Blackhawks franchise, while Bobby Hull and Denis Savard hold No. 2 and No. 3 with 1,153 and 1,096 points, respectively.
