Nov. 30, U17s vs Waterloo Black Hawks (L, 5-3)

The U17s lost 5-3 against the Waterloo Black Hawks on Friday (Nov. 30) at USA Hockey Arena.

Waterloo took a 3-0 lead in the first period, with NTDP alum Joey Casetti (NTDP 2015-17) scoring once for the Black Hawks. Chase Yoder (Fairview, Texas) scored first for the U17s, and Landon Slaggert (South Bend, Ind.) tallied a goal with 1 minute, 3 seconds remaining in the second period to cut the deficit to one, but another goal from Waterloo extended its lead to 4-2 going into the third. Jacob Truscott (Fort Gratiot, Mich.) scored Team USA’s third goal, but Waterloo ultimately took the first game of the weekend. 

Drew Commesso (Norwell, Mass.) and Noah Grannan (Germantown, Wis.) made a combined 20 saves in the loss.

The U.S. National Under-17 Team returns to action Tuesday (Dec. 11) as it begins its second stint of international gameplay in the 2018 Under-17 Four Nations Cup at USA Hockey Arena.
