NTDP-BGSU CONNECTION: The NTDP has sent three alumni to play for Bowling Green in their time following Team USA: Todd McIlrath (NTDP 2002-03), Mike Nesdill (NTDP 2000-02), and Brennan Vargas (NTDP 2005-07). McIlrath played three seasons and tallied 41 points (10-31-41) in 104 games, Nesdill recorded 45 points (7-38-45 in 115 GP) across four seasons, while Vargas recorded nine points (4-5-9 in 38 GP) over three seasons with the Falcons.
FORWARD OF THE WEEK: Trevor Zegras’ weekend performance earned him USHL Forward of the Week for the second time this season. Zegras scored twice and added an assist in the U18s' 7-1 win against Omaha on Friday before scoring his third goal and dishing out his second helper of the weekend in Team USA's 7-4 victory over Dubuque on Saturday. NHL CENTRAL SCOUTING: Sixty-seven USHL players comprise the updated players to watch list, which ranks as the most of any junior league worldwide. Every U18 player is rated on the list, and the NTDP comprises all eight A-rated players with USHL associations: Boldy, Cole Caufield (Stevens Point, Wis.), Jack Hughes (Orlando, Fla.), Knight, Alex Turcotte (Island Lake, Ill.), Vlasic, Cam York (Anaheim Hills, Calif.) and Zegras. NCAA SCHEDULE: The U18s pick up their NCAA schedule with a matchup against Bowling Green State University on Wednesday (Nov. 21) at USA Hockey Arena. The games continue with University of Maine on Dec. 8 at home, Michigan State University (Dec. 15), Lake Superior State University on Dec. 16 at home, St. Cloud State University (Dec. 27), University of North Dakota (Dec. 29), College of the Holy Cross on Jan. 1 at home, University of Minnesota-Duluth (Jan. 5), Adrian College on Jan. 8 at home and end with the University of Wisconsin on Jan. 12.
