The U18s opened its weekend of play with a solid 6-3 victory against the No. 8 Michigan Wolverines on Friday (Oct. 12). Trevor Zegras (Bedford, N.Y.), Jack Hughes (Orlando, Fla.), and Henry Thrun (Southborough, Mass.) tallied three-point nights. Marshall Warren (Laurel Hollow, N.Y.), Hughes, and Ryder Rolston (Birmingham, Mich.) put the U18s on the board in the first period. Team USA captured and defended the 6-3 lead in the second period after goals from Zegras, Thrun and Rolston. Spencer Knight (Darien, Conn.) stopped 25 of 28 shots from the Wolverines in the victory.
The U18s suited up for another NCAA matchup at 2 p.m. ET the following day against the University of Minnesota. Judd Caulfield (Grand Forks, N.D.) put the U18s on the board in the third period, but Team USA ultimately fell 7-1 to the Gophers.
