LAST TIME OUT: Team USA returned from the 2018 USHL Fall Classic undefeated in USHL play. The U18s earned a 5-4 shootout victory Saturday (Sept. 29) against the Sioux Falls Stampede. Cole Caufield (Stevens Point, Wis.), Matt Boldy (Millis, Mass.), Patrick Moynihan (Millis, Mass.), and Ryder Rolston (Birmingham, Mich.) netted goals in regulation. Jack Hughes (Orlando, Fla.), Caufield and Domenick Fensore (Thornwood, N.Y.) scored in the shootout to help the U18s earn a win. Cameron Rowe (Wilmette, Ill.) played the full game and stopped 19 of 23 shots.

The U18s concluded the Fall Classic with their second victory in a dramatic 2-1 win over the Omaha Lancers. Caufield scored for the NTDP in the first period with assists from Hughes and John Beecher (Elmira, N.Y.). The game remained tied throughout the third period until Fensore scored the game-winner with 10.9 seconds left in regulation. Hughes tallied a second assist and Judd Caulfield (Grand Forks, N.D.) picked up the secondary  assist on Fensore’s tally. Spencer Knight (Darien, Conn.) stopped 15 of 16 shots in net to earn his first victory of the season.
