LAST TIME OUT: The Under-17s have no games for the weekend after bringing home home two wins at the North American Hockey League (NAHL) Showcase in Blaine, Minn., to close out its preseason slate. Four different goal scorers led the U17s to a 4-3 victory over the Northeast Generals on Friday (Sept. 21). Ty Smilanic (Elizabeth, Colo.) opened the scoring with an unassisted goal, followed by another unassisted tally from Hunter McKown (St. Louis, Mo). Brett Berard (E. Greenwich, R.I.) netted the third goal of the game for the U17s with an assist from Brock Faber (Maple Grove, Minn.). Luke Tuch (Baldwinsville, N.Y.), recorded the final NTDP goal, assisted by Thomas Bordeleau (Houston, Texas), in the second period. Goaltenders Noah Grannan (Germantown, Wis.) and Drew Commesso (Norwell, Mass.) split time in net and recorded a combined .909 save percentage on 33 shots.

Tuch and Berard supplied two points each in a 4-3 overtime win for the U17s against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights on Saturday (Sept. 22). Matthew Beniers (Hingham, Mass.) and Landon Slaggert (South Bend, Ind.) each netted one goal and Connor Kelley (Maple Grove, Minn.) recorded an assist. Tuch earned credit for the game-winning goal six seconds into the overtime period on a feed from Bordeleau. Grannan and Commesso combined to stop 23 shots in net.
