DEALING THE GAMBLERS: The U18s travel to Green Bay this weekend for a two game series Friday and Saturday night. These will be the third and fourth meetings between the teams this season, and the last of the season. The Gamblers are 22-16-3-1 (W-L-OTL-SOL) in USHL play this season and currently sit in fifth in the Eastern Conference.

Green Bay is coming into the weekend looking to continue its hot streak. They are on a 5-0-1-0 streak right now and are 6-3-1-0 in their last 10. Their most recent win came against the Madison Capitols on Saturday (Feb. 24) beating them, 4-2.

This weekend in Green Bay,  the Caufield brothers will face-off for their final time this season. Brock is a right wing for the Gamblers and brother Cole is currently a left wing for the U18s.

In their most recent match-up with the Gamblers, the U17s won 6-4 with goals from Jack Hughes (Orlando, Fla.), Cole Caufield (Stevens Point, Wis.), Patrick Moynihan (Millis, Mass.), Michael Gildon (Plano, Texas), Sean Farrell (Hopkinton, Mass.) and Alex Turcotte  (Island Lake, Ill.).

BATTLING THE LANCERS: The U.S. National Under-17 Team opens its weekend against the first-ranked Omaha Lancers on Saturday night at USA Hockey Arena at 7 p.m. Omaha is currently 30-11-2-1 with a USHL-best 63 points.

Omaha comes into the contest with a 9-1-0-0 record in their last 10 games and on a two game win streak after outscoring Youngstown 12-2 (8-1, 4-1) in a sweep at the Covelli Centre last weekend.

Omaha has the third ranked offense (149 goals for) and the second-ranked defense (95 goals against) coming into the matchup. The Lancers acquired forward Ryan Savage (who played one game for the U18s earlier this year) on the USHL Trade Deadline day in a three-way trade with the Fargo Force and Muskegon Lumberjacks.

In the November 25 loss at Omaha (6-1), Marshall Warren (Laurel Hollow, N.Y.) netted the lone goal for the U17s.

DOWNING THE LUMBERJACKS : The U17s host cross-state rival Lumberjacks on Sunday afternoon at USA Hockey ARena. This will be the sixth of seven meetings between the teams this season. The Lumberjacks are 23-19-1-1 in league play with 48 points and currently sit in fourth place in the Eastern Conference.

The Lumberjacks are 6-4-0-0 in their last 10 match-ups. They’re coming off a, 6-2 win against the Sioux City Musketeers on Saturday (Feb. 24). They face Dubuque on Friday (March 2).

In the last match-up the U17s defeated Muskegon, 10-1 at L.C. Walker Arena. Cole Caufield (Stevens Point, Wis.) led the way for the U17s with three goals. Michael Gildon (Plano, Texas) and Ryder Rolston (Birmingham, Mich.) each netted two goals. Trevor Zegras (Bedford, N.Y.), Matthew Boldy (Millis, Mass.), and  Sean Farrell (Hopkinton, Mass.) each added one.
