SWEDEN vs. CZECH REPUBLIC

Sweden and the Czech Republic  face-off in the first game of the day Friday at USA Hockey Arena for the fourth day of the 2018 Under-18 Five Nations Tournament.

The Czech Republic comes into today’s game with a 1-2-0 record after a 9-2 loss last night to Russia. Jakub Lauko and Frantisek Klejna scored the lone goals for the Czech Republic.

Sweden comes into the game 0-2-0 and is  coming off a 5-3 loss to Finland yesterday night. After scoring two in the first, they gave up four consecutive goals at the end of the first and into the second. Sweden got one back from Samuel Fagemo at the 19:51 mark of the third but Finland hung on for the win. Simon Lundmark, Oskar Back had Sweden’s first two goals of the game.

USA VS RUSSIA

The U.S. and Russia continue its rivalry in the 7 p.m. game tonight at USA Hockey Arena.

The U.S. comes into the game with a 1-1-0 record after a 6-2 loss against the Czech Republic Wednesday. Joel Farabee (Cicero, N.Y.) and Erik Middendorf (Scottsdale, Ariz.) netted Team USA’s goals in the loss.

Russia is 2-0-0 after coming off a big win yesterday (Feb.15) against the Czech Republic. Russia scored five unanswered goals in the third period en route to a 9-2 win. The Russian trio of Vladislav Mikhailov, Grigory Denisenko and Andrei Svechnikov netted two goals apiece in the win.
