SEND US HOME: Both the Under-17 and Under-18 Teams earned walkoff wins last week, rallying in overtime to complete comebacks.

U17 defenseman Charlie Trethewey (Woodbine, Md.) scored with 37 seconds to play in the 3-on-3 session Friday night in Green Bay, giving the Under-17 Team its first road USHL win of the season.

The score, assisted by Conrad Fondrk (White Bear Lake, Minn.) and Cullen Potter (Minneapolis, Minn.), was Trethewey's ninth of the season and gave him 28 points on the year, tied with Will Moore (Ithaca, N.Y.) for most on the U17s.

It was another defenseman doing the honors for the U18s, as Cole Hutson (Chicago, Ill.) used a shimmy to escape a defender and find the back of the net halfway through the extra session. The score was Hutson's eighth of the campaign to lead all U18 blueliners and give Team USA wins in two of its past three games against North Dakota.

Hutson is up to 26 points (8g-18a) on the season and 92 points in his NTDP career, placing him fourth all-time in points by a defenseman, and traililng just Cam York's 103 points for career scoring by a two-year NTDP defenseman.

CALLED UP: NTDP coaching alum and current Rochester Americans head coach Seth Appert was called up to coach the NHL's Buffalo Sabres for a pair of games last week, filling in for fellow NTDP alum Don Granato, who was out sick.

Appert won his first career game as an NHL head coach after the Sabres came from behind to win on Jeff Skinner's overtime tally.

With Granato back healthy, Appert has returned to Rochester, where he has led the Amerks to a 14-12-2-1 record through the first half of the season.
