ADRIAN BULLDOGS:  The Under-18 Team takes the hour-long trip down Route 12 to square off with the Adrian Bulldogs Tuesday night as they resume their 2022-23 Kroger College Series.

The Bulldogs have been one of the top teams in Division III hockey this season, ranked third with a 14-3-2 overall record, including a 7-2-0 mark on home ice at Arrington Ice Arena.

Senior forward Matus Spodniak has led the team offensively as he tops the team leaderboards with 18 goals and 30 points. Sam Ruffin leads the team with 15 assists on the season en route to 20 total points, while Ty Enns has posted an impressive 24 points (11g-13a) in 18 games played.

A pair of defensemen in Chase Spencer and Jaden Shields have been red-hot for the Bulldogs. Spencer has produced two goals and five assists for seven points over his last four games while Shields has posted six helpers in his latest four-game stretch.

Junior netminder Dershahn Stewart has started 11 games in net and played himself to a 7-1-2 record with a 2.38 GAA and .913 SV%. Nic Tallarico has started eight others with a 6-2-0-1 record, 2.67 GAA and .892 SV% for the Bulldogs.

The NTDP has a 13-5-0 advantage against Adrian in the all-timer series, including wins in each of the five previous matchups dating back to January 10, 2021.

DUBUQUE FIGHTING SAINTS: The Dubuque Fighting Saints, who sit just one point behind Team USA coming into the weekend, make their second and final trip of the season to USA Hockey Arena for a game against both the U17 (Fri.) and U18 (Sat.) squads.

NTDP alum Ryan St. Louis leads Dubuque offensively with 34 points (14g-20a) in 27 games played. HIs 1.26 points-per-game pace ranks eighth among all USHL players. Michael Burchill (8g-15a), Max Montes (11g-9a) and Oliver Moberg (6g-14a) have all helped produce offensive for the Saints.

Defenseman Max Burkholder ranks second among all USHL blueliners with 29 points and his 11 goals is tied for tops in the league's blueliners.

Goaltenders Marcus Brannman and Paxton Geisel have worked a pretty even split in the crease this season. Brannman boasts an 11-4-0-1 record with a 2.80 GAA and .915 SV% in 17 games this season. In Geisel's 15 appearances, he has earned a 6-8-1-0 record, 4.40 GAA and .857 SV% for the Saints.

Team USA has taken the first game of the season series for both the U17s and U18s. The 17s used a James Hagens (Hauppauge, N.Y.) overtime game-winner back on October 21 while the 18s won by an 8-2 final on December 17 in Iowa.

BOWLING GREEN FALCONS: The Under-18 Team heads out for its final road trip of the 2022-23 Kroger College Series as they cross the Ohio border to meet Bowling Green Friday evening

The Falcons come in with a 14-13-1 overall record, but they've been hot with a 6-1-1 record over their past eight games.

BGSU is led by Hobey Baker Award nominee Austen Swankler, who leads the team with 16 goals, 22 assists and 38 points. Ryan O'Hara (10), Nathan Burke (13), Taylor Schneider (10) and Ethan Scardina (10) have all pitched in double-digit goals.

Ben Wozney (2g-13a--15pts) and Zach Vinnell (1g-12a--13pts) lead the Falcon defensemen.

In net, Christian Stoever has played the vast majority of games, starting 23 on his way to a 10-11-1-1 record with a 2.89 GAA and .916 SV%.

The all-time series is split between the two sides through six games. In the most recent outing, the U18s topped the Falcons by a 5-1 final back on January 11, 2021 at USA Hockey Arena.

CHICAGO STEEL:  The Chicago Steel make their return to USA Hockey Arena as they come in for a Sunday afternoon tilt to finish their 3-in-3 set after a pair of games in Youngstown to start their weekend.

Chicago sits in a familiar place atop the USHL's Eastern Conference with a 22-10-1-1 record and 46 points into their three-game weekend.

The Steel roster the league's four leading scorers, led by third-year man Jack Harvey, whose 25 goals and 45 points lead the league. Rookie forward Mack Celebrini has recorded the second-most points (20g-21a--41pts) while Michael Emerson (20g-20a--40pts) and Nicholas Moldenhauer (15g-23a--38pts) follow in order.

Defensemen Anthony Dowd (1g-19a--20pts) and Jake Livanavage (4g-13a--17pts), both of whom have seen time with Team USA in the past, lead Steel blueliners in scoring.

Christian Manz has 19 appearances in net for Chicago with an 11-6-1-1 record, 3.61 GAA and .893 SV5. In only 12 games of action, Jack Stark has been even better with a 10-2-0 record, 2.97 GAA and .921 SV% for the Steel.

Chicago and the U17s split their first series of the year back in October as the Steel took Game 1 by an 8-3 final while the U17s bounced back with a 5-4 victory in the rematch.
