TOSS 'EM FOR SAL: U18 forward Salvatore Guzzo (Old Tappan, N.J.) gave Team USA's fans quite the arm workout Saturday night as he scored the team's first goal of the game to begin the annual Teddy Bear Toss. On the power play, Guzzo loaded up from the right circle and rifled a shot into the top corner to put the U18s up 1-0 over Utica University. All of the collected stuffed animals will be donated to the Salvation Army and handed out to local children in time for the holidays.

The Harvard commit's night was just getting started as he netted the team's second goal and finished the hat-trick with a quick shot off an offensive-zone draw late in the third period so fans could throw their hats after they threw their bears earlier.

The three-goal game was Guzzo's second as a member of the NTDP after he completed his first hat-trick at the U17 Four Nations last November in a 5-1 win over Finland.

THE A-TRAIN ROLLS:  Under-18 Team forward Alex Weiermair (Los Angeles, Calif.) picked up a goal scored in each game over the weekend and now has scored in three of the team's past four games.

Weiermair somehow netted from behind the goal line Friday night against Chicago as he banked his shot off the back of the Steel netminder and in for his fourth goal of the season.

The University of Denver commit came back the next night against Utica with his third multi-point game of the campaign. He won the offensive-zone draw that led to Guzzo's Teddy Bear Toss goal and then later made a great cut towards the slot and fired in to push Team USA's lead to 3-0 in the middle period.

FEEL THE BURN: Austin Burnevik (Blaine, Minn.) registered his first career multi-goal game at the NTDP to help the U18s come back and earn a point in an eventual shootout loss to Chicago.

With USA down 4-1 in the third, Burnevik used an aggressive forecheck to steal the puck and score on a breakaway with a slick backhand shot. He added his second of the night to send the game to overtime with a top-corner shot right off a faceoff win and added another tally in the shootout.

Burnevik's game pushed him into the top-10 in team scoring with 14 points.
