2 FOR 20: Under-18 forward Will Smith (Lexington, Mass.) has had one of the most impressive starts to a season in NTDP history as he recorded at least a point in all four games of the Five Nations tournament to push his NTDP-record point streak to 19 consecutive games to begin a season.

After scoring a goal in the opening game against Czechia, Smith finished with three multi-point efforts including two goals apiece in Friday and Saturday's wins for the U18s. His six goals and nine points both led all skaters in the tournament.

On the season, the Boston College commit has racked up 39 points (17g-22a) in just 19 games played. His 2.05 points-per-game would rank second all-time in an NTDP season only to Jack Hughes (Orlando, Fla. / NTDP 2017-19), who is the only player in program history to record at least 2 PPG.

Smith looks to extend his point streak to 20 consecutive games Friday night.

SET THE RECORD STRAIGHT:  The Under-17 Team did its part to rewrite the record book at the 2022 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge.

James Hagens (Hauppauge, N.Y.) set the tournament's all-time points record as he earned 21 points over the seven games played. Hagens recorded multiple points in each of Team USA's games, including a pair of three-point nights, two four-point games and a tournament-high five point performance in the gold-medal game as he finished with two goals and three assists to help give the U.S. its first championship since 2017.

On the season, Hagens has produced 35 points in just 16 games played, giving him an outstanding 2.19 points-per-game into the weekend.

Hagens' linemate Cole Eiserman (Newburyport, Mass.) was nearly as impressive as he tied the all-time tournament record with 12 goals scored, matching Alexander Ovechkin's output in 2001. While Ovi only had two additional assists, Eiserman collected eight apples to give him 20 points throughout the tournament, which would have given him the record without Hagens' performance.

Eiserman has been one of the most prolific goal scorers in hockey for his entire career and has continued that stretch this season. The University of Minnesota commit has 23 goals and 39 total points in his 17 games this season, including a two-goal performance with the Under-18 Team in their 6-2 win over NCAA Division I Michigan Tech.

DUELING TROPHIES: The Under-17 and Under-18 National Teams both earned first-place finishes in their respective international tournaments last week, marking the first time since February 2018 that both NTDP teams won in the same international break.

During that stretch, the U17s traveled to Jarvenpaa, Finland for a Five Nations where they topped Russia, Sweden, Finland and the Czech Republic to capture their third straight international tournament victory of the season. Matt Boldy, Trevor Zegras and Cole Caufield led the scoring for that tournament as the three forwards combined for 11 goals and 16 assists in four games.

That seasons U18 squad won their Five Nations on home ice at USA Hockey Arena, shutting out Finland 4-0 on the final day of the tournament to win.

Oliver Wahlstrom and underager Jack Hughes were the scoring leaders for the U.S. in their tournament victory.
