U17s Defeat Flying Aces, 4-2.

The U.S. National Under-17 Team defeated the Central Illinois Flying Aces, 4-2 Saturday night in its second game of the weekend series.

Owen Lindmark (Naperville, Ill.) netted the U17s first goal at 13:18 of the first period. Matthew Boldy (Millis, Mass.) centered the puck from the goal line to Lindmark for the one-timer. Drew Helleson (Farmington, Minn.) also tallied an assist on the goal.

Central Illinois tied the game, 1-1 at the 13:57 mark of the first period.

Skater Leaders

Marshall Warren (Laurel Hollow, N.Y.) regained the lead for the U17s at the 11:01 of the second period. Warren skated the puck to the front of the net before lifting it under the crossbar to give the U17s a 2-1 lead. Lindmark and Danny Weight (Lattingtown, N.Y.) tallied the assists.

Ryder Rolston (Birmingham, Mich.) netted his third goal of the weekend at 17:24 of the third period. Trevor Zegras (Bedford, N.Y.) tallied the lone assist on the goal.

Central Illinois netted its second of the game to pull within one before Judd Caulfield (Grand Forks, N.D.) netted the U17s fourth goal of the night at 2:23 of the third period. John Beecher (Elmira, N.Y.) and Domenick Fensore (Thornwood, N.Y.) picked up assists on the goal.

Spencer Knight (Darien, Conn.)  recorded 12 saves while Central Illinois’ Zach Stejskal recorded 20 saves.
