Moynihan tallies three points in win

The U17s (16-4-0) defeated the first place, Fargo Force tonight, 6-3. 

Jack Hughes (Orlando, Fla.) extended his point streak tonight to eight games with one assist, Patrick Moynihan (Millis, Mass.) picked up three points, and Cole Caufield (Stevens Point, Wis.) now has eight goals in eight USHL games played.  Fourteen NTDP players registered at least a point in tonight’s win.

Skater Leaders

Team USA struck first on a 2-on-1 breakaway goal from Michael Gildon (Plano, Texas) at 5:19 of the first period.  Ryder Rolston (Birmingham, Mich.) and Trevor Zegras (Bedford, N.Y) tallied assists on the goal. 

Caufield scored at 6:33 of the second. Domenick Fensore (Thornwood, N.Y.) shot the puck off the end boards and Caufield tipped it in behind Fargo’s goaltender to put Team USA up 2-0.

After some nice three-way passing from Moynihan and John Beecher (Elmira, N.Y.), Ryan Siedem (Madison, N.J.) put one in the net at 7:15 in the second to make it 3-0.

Fargo tallied a second period goal and two early third period goals to tie the game, 3-3.

Moynihan scored on the power play at 11:06 in the third to give the U17s the 4-3 lead. Beecher and Case McCarthy (Clarence Center, N.Y.) tallied assists on the goal.

Team USA scored a power play goal from Alex Vlasic (Wilmette, Ill.), assisted by Hughes, at 18:35 of the third to make it 5-3.

Sean Farrell (Hopkinton, Mass.) scored an empty net goal at 19:17 for a final score of 6-3.

Cameron Rowe (Wilmette, Ill.) had 32 saves on the night.

The U17s play tomorrow night, Friday, Dec. 1, in Youngstown, Ohio against the Youngstown Phantoms at 7:05 p.m. ET.
