PLYMOUTH, Michigan – Goaltenders Drew DeRidder (Fenton, Mich.) and Jon Mor (Highland Park, Ill.) have been added to the roster of the U.S. National Under-18 Team for the 2017-18 season, it was announced today by USA Hockey’s National Team Development Program.
DeRidder spent the majority of last season with the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders of the United States Hockey League, amassing a record of 10-26-1-0 (W-L-OTL-SOL) with a 3.27 goals-against-average and .890 save percentage. Prior to his stint in Cedar Rapids, the Michigan State University commit spent the previous three seasons with the Oakland Jr. Grizzlies as part of the Bantam Minor AAA, Bantam Major AAA, Under-16 and Under-18 squads.
Mor spent time with the NTDP last season, appearing in two games with the U.S. National Under-17 Team. He spent the majority of the season with the Chicago Young Americans U16 team, appearing in 10 games and posting a 4.14 goals-against-average and .897 save-percentage.
“We are excited to add Drew and Jon to our Under-18 team heading into the 2017-18 season,” said Scott Monaghan, senior director of operations of the NTDP. “Jon has already seen the ice with us during the 2016-17 season and Drew is familiar with the rigors of the USHL season after his time in Cedar Rapids.”
Both players have joined the team for spring workouts at USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth.
