U17s Fall to Chicago, 6-3

Jonathan Gruden (Rochester, Mich.) and Tyler Weiss (Raleigh, N.C.) each registered two points for Team USA in the U.S. National Under-17 Team's 6-3 loss to the Chicago Steel on Friday evening at Fox Valley Ice Arena. 

Chicago jumped on Team USA early, scoring five first period goals.

The U17s responded in the second period at the 1:54 mark when Josh Maniscalco (Perkiomenville, Pa.) tallied his third USHL goal of the season. Gruden and Weiss assisted on the goal. 

Seven minutes later, Weiss tallied a goal of the feed from Spencer Stastney (Mequon, Wis.) and Gruden. 

Jake Goldowski (Thornhurst, Pa.) scored the last Team USA goal at the 4:29 mark of the third period. Blade Jenkins (Jackson, Mich.) picked up an assist on the play. 

Goaltender Keegan Karki (Sartell, Minn.) made 26 saves on 32 shots. 

The U17s are back in action tomorrow when they travel to Dubuque to take on the Fighting Saints at 8:05 p.m. ET.
