U.S. Rosters Announced for 2017 Five Nations Tournaments

PLYMOUTH, Mich. — USA Hockey announced today the 22-player rosters for the 2017 U.S. National Under-18 and Under-17 Teams, which will compete at the 2017 Five Nations Tournaments from Feb. 8-12 in Sundsvall, Sweden, and Brno, Czech Republic.

The 22-player Under-18 roster is composed entirely of players from USA Hockey's National Team Development Program. A complete Under-18 Team  roster can be found here.

The Under-17 roster is comprised of 21 full-time members of the NTDP and one additional player, Christian Krygier (Novi, Mich.), who currently plays for the Lincoln Stars of the United States Hockey League. A complete Under-17 Team roster can be found here.

The U18s will face the Czech Republic, Finland, Russia and Sweden at the Sundsvall Energi Arena in Sundsvall, Sweden. The U17s will face the Czech Republic, Finland, Russia and Sweden at various arenas in Brno, Czech Republic. Entire schedules are listed below.

The U.S. National Under-18 Team earned a first-place finish at the 2016 Under-18 Five Nations Tournament held at USA Hockey Arena earlier this season. They defeated the Czech Republic, Finland and Switzerland en route to the championship.

The U.S. National Under-17 Team won the 2016 Under-17 Four Nations Tournament in Switzerland earlier this season. They defeated Russia, Slovakia and Switzerland en route to securing their first international tournament championship together.

Notes: Information for live streaming of both tournaments will be posted on USAHockeyNTDP.com when available ... Each team will compete in four games, with points awarded for wins (3), overtime wins (2) and overtime losses (1). Joining Wroblewski on the bench will be assistant coach Nick Fohr (Grand Forks, N.D.), goaltending coach Kevin Reiter (Pittsburg, Pa.) and intern assistant coach Greg Moore (Lisbon, Maine) ... Danton Cole (Pontiac, Mich.) will lead the U.S. National Under-17 Team ... Joining Cole on the bench will be assistant coach Chris Luongo (Fraser, Mich.) and intern assistant coach Mason Graddock (Stowe, Vt.).

ABOUT THE NTDP: In 1996, USA Hockey launched a new initiative called the National Team Development Program, originally based in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The goal of this full-time development program is to prepare student-athletes under the age of 18 for participation on U.S. National Teams and success in their future hockey careers. Its efforts focus not only on high-caliber participation on the ice, but creating well-rounded individuals off the ice.
