Patrick Giles (Chevy Chase, Md.) tallied twice for the U.S. National Under-17 Team in Team USA's 4-2 victory against Switzerland in a pre-tournament tilt on Wednesday afternoon at Monthey Arena.
Team USA will start the 2016 Under-17 Four Nations Tournament on Friday with a matchup with Slovakia at 8:15 a.m. ET at Monthey Arena.
After falling behind early, Tyler Weiss (Raleigh, N.C.) tied the game with an unassisted goal at the 13:40 mark of the first period.
Giles gave team USA the lead at the 15:50 mark of the second period off a feed from Jonathan Gruden (Rochester, Mich.).
Oliver Wahlstrom (Quincy, Mass.) tallied the eventual game-winning goal with just a minute to play in the second period. Jake Wise (North Andover, Mass.) and Joel Farabee (Cicero, N.Y.) picked up assists on the play.
Giles picked up his second goal of the game at the 5:17 mark of the 3rd period. Tyler Weiss picked up his second point in the game by feeding a pass to Giles.
Keegan Karki (Sartell, Minn.) picked up the win for Team USA after allowing just two goals.
