NTDP Ready For Three-Game Homestand

Matchup Preview

This week both the U17s and U18s are at home for a three-game USHL slate. All games will take place at USA Hockey Arena at 7 p.m. ET.

ROUGHING UP THE 'RIDERS: The RoughRiders are 3-16-1-1 on the season and go into Thursday’s game against the U18s riding a three-game winning streak.

Jason Polin and Zac Robbins lead the team in scoring with five goals each, and three players own the top slot in total points with eight.

Sixteen-year-old goaltender Drew DeRidder was called up in the middle of the season. He boasts a .908 save percentage and 2.91 goals against average while facing an average of 31.7 shots per game in 12 games.

FRIDAY NIGHT RIVALRY: Muskegon currently sits in third in the Eastern Conference with a 13-10-0-0 record. Two players have been traded since the Lumberjacks last faced Team USA on November 23: veteran defenseman Derek Daschke to the Chicago Steel and left wing Logan Drevitch to the Tri-City Storm.

Collin Adams leads the USHL in total points with 27. He also leads the team and is second in the league in scoring with 15 goals, trailing Fargo’s Jack Adams. Bo Hanson’s 17 assists place him first on the team and second in the league in assists.

Goaltenders Adam Brizgala and Keith Petruzzelli have played 26 games total this season. Petruzelli started two games more (14) and owns a 2.53 save percentage and .915 goals against average.

BLOWING PAST BLOOMINGTON: The Thunder own a 10-9-3-0 record through three months of play. This is Bloomington’s first trip to USA Hockey Arena this season. The Thunder split the two games played in Indiana against the U17s on November 18-19. Saturday will be the first matchup against the Under-18 Team.

Vladislav Dzhioshvili leads the team with 15 points and 8 goals through 21 games. Wyatt Kalynuk has tallied the most assists on the team with 10 through 22 games and is tied for second on the team with 12 points.

Logan Halladay and Gabriel Mollot-Hill have started in net for a combined 25 games. Both have save percentages above .900 and Mollot-Hill boasts a 1.93 GAA.

The preliminary roster will be reduced to 23 players before the tournament starts in Montreal and Toronto, Canada. The NHL Network will exclusively broadcast live telecasts of all U.S. games and 23 games in total.

FAMILIAR FACES: Muskegon’s Keenan Suthers and Keeghan Howdeshell are both returning to USA Hockey Arena on Friday after playing for the NTDP from 2014-16. Suthers has eight points (four goals and assists) on the season, and Howdeshell has five (two goals and three assists).

USA HOCKEY ARENA PROMO NIGHTS: Look for the Under-18 Team in the crowd during Friday’s game against Muskegon. It’s ugly sweater night at USA Hockey Arena, and they’ll be sporting their ugliest holiday sweaters to take pictures with fans.

Saturday, all fans will receive a team poster for the U18s and the team will be signing autographs and posing for pictures with fans after the game.

NTDP BROADCASTS: CN-900 television – part of the Xfinity/Comcast system – shows NTDP broadcasts at 6 p.m. ET Sunday and 9 p.m. ET Monday.

WINTER CHAMPIONS SERIES COMING TO USA HOCKEY ARENA: The Team USA Winter Champions Series comes to USA Hockey Arena at 4:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, Dec. 17, when the U.S. Women’s National Team hosts the Canadian Women’s National Team. Tickets are available at the USA Hockey Arena box office or by calling (734) 453-6400.

The Team USA Winter Champions Series serves as a precursor to the 2017 International Ice Hockey Federation Women's World Championship, to be held at USA Hockey Arena from April 1-8.
