Tyler Inamoto (Barrington, Ill.) and Sean Dhooghe (Auroroa, Ill.) scored for the U.S. National Under-18 Team in a 3-2 loss to the Youngstown Phantoms on Friday night at the Covelli Centre.

The NTDP U18s are 1-1-1 in USHL play and 3-9-1 overall.

The game was scoreless, tied or no more than a one-goal differential the entire way.

Inamoto opened the scoring at 2:32 of the first period (unassisted) to give the Under-18 team a 1-0 lead, capping off good U18 pressure in the Youngstown zone by picking up a loose puck at the hashmarks and beating Youngstown goaltender Ivan Kulbakov with a hard shot through traffic.

After Alex Esposito tied the game at 1-1 for Youngstown in the second period, Dhooghe gave the U18s a 2-1 lead at 4:38 of the period, converting a sharp pass from the right circle from Josh Maniscalco (Perkiomenville, Pa.).  Dhooghe buried the shot from the left circle to give the NTDP U18s the lead.  David Farrance (Victory, N.Y.) drew the second assist on the goal.

Youngstown took their first lead of the game at 3-2 on goals by Evan Wisocky (8:27) and Brett Murray (12:47).

Trailing 3-2 late in the third period, NTDP U18 head coach John Wroblewski (Neenah, Wisc.) called a timeout with 1:27 remaining and pulled U18 goaltender Dylan St. Cyr (Northville, Pa.) for the extra attacker, but the U18s couldn't find the equalizer.

St. Cyr finished the game with 29 saves as his record now stands at 1-1-1 in USHL play.
