Camp Will Run May 12-15 at USA Hockey Arena

PLYMOUTH, Mich. - The ninth annual Warren Strelow National Team Goaltending Camp, which features many of the top U.S. goaltenders eligible for international play within select age groups, opens today in Plymouth, Michigan. The camp is named after the late Warren Strelow, a former National Hockey League goalie coach who served in that same capacity for the 1980 U.S. Olympic Men's Ice Hockey Team.

The elite four-day camp will cover both physical and mental aspects of goaltending, helping each player master the fundamentals of the position while developing a personal identity that translates to in-game success.

The camp will be led by Kevin Reiter, Warren Strelow mentor and U.S. National Team goaltending coach, and regional mentors Adam Berkhoel, Brennan Poderzay and Jared Waimon. In addition, assistant mentors Mike Ayers, Joe Exter, Bob Janosz, David Lassonde, Matt Millar, and Nick Petraglia will be on hand for instruction, as well as several guest coaches, including: Peter Aubry, developmental goaltending coach for the Chicago Blackhawks; Mike Buckley, development goaltending coach for the Pittsburgh Penguins; Shane Clifford, former NHL goalie coach and current junior goalie coach for four teams; Ty Conklin, nine-year NHL veteran of six teams; Phil Osaer, American Development Model manager of youth goaltending at USA Hockey; Joe Palmer, former National Team Development Program and Ohio State University goaltender currently serving as volunteer assistant coach with Cornell University; Kenny Reiter, NCAA Division I champion with the University of Minnesota Duluth (2011) and professional goaltender; John Vanbiesbrouck, former NHL and Olympic goaltender; Alex Westlund, goaltending coach with the Augsburg Panthers; and Brian Mahoney-Wilson, volunteer assistant and goaltending coach with the University of Notre Dame.
