The U.S. National Under-17 and Under-18 Teams return to USA Hockey Arena for United States Hockey League play this weekend.
READY FOR YOUNGSTOWN: Following a two-game sweep over the Tri-City Storm, the U18s return home to USA Hockey Arena for a single contest against the Youngstown Phantoms at 2 p.m. Sunday. The squad beat Tri-City 4-3 in overtime on Friday and 3-2 in a shootout the next day.
Chad Krys (Ridgefield, Conn.) scored the game winner in overtime and goalie Jake Oettinger (Lakeville, Minn.) stopped 31 shots on Friday. Griffin Luce (Williamsville, N.Y.), Joey Anderson (Roseville, Minn.) and Kieffer Bellows (Edina, Minn.) scored in regulation.
Scott Reedy (Prior Lake, Minn.) and Anderson tallied goals in regulation and Clayton Keller (Swansea, Ill.) scored the lone goal in the shootout on Saturday. Goalie Joseph Woll (St. Louis, Mo.) had 31 saves.
STAMPEDE ARRIVE: The U17s host the Sioux Falls Stampede at 7 p.m. Friday. They are coming off a weekend in which they earned one point in two road games against the Chicago Steel. They lost 5-1 on Friday and 2-1 in a shootout on Saturday.
Grant Mismash (Edina, Minn.) scored the lone goal while goalie Adam Scheel (Lakewood, Ohio) stopped 19 shots on Friday. Dylan St. Cyr (Northville, Mich.) kicked out 31 shots and Phil Kemp (Greenwich, Conn.) potted the lone goal on Saturday.
