The U.S. National Under-18 Team will face three collegiate teams from Dec. 31, 2013 through Jan. 4, 2014. Below you'll find a recap of each game over this span.

Team USA 4 Miami 2 (F)

OXFORD, Ohio - Anders Bjork (Mequon, Wis.) netted two goals, including the game-winning strike with less than one minute remaining, as the U.S. National Under-18 Team bested Miami University, 4-2, at the Goggin Ice Center on New Year's Eve.

Bjork opened the scoring at 16:47 of the first period, converting on passes by Dylan Larkin (Waterford, Mich.) and Ryan Hitchcock (Manhasset, N.Y.). Miami put 10 shots on net, but Edwin Minney (Wind Gap, Pa.) stopped each attempt to preserve the U.S. lead after one frame.

Miami tied the game at 5:05 of the second period while skating on the power play. Alex Tuch (Baldwinsville, N.Y.) responded to restake the one-goal advantage for Team USA. Jack Glover (Golden Valley, Minn.) assisted on the play. Blake Weyrick (Ojai, Calif.) entered the game midway through the frame and made four key saves heading into intermission.

An early goal by the RedHawks, scored just 10 seconds into the final frame, tied the contest, 2-2. With 51 seconds remaining in the game, Bjork played hero and scored the game-winning goal. Hitchcock and Larkin combined to help set up the play. Hitchcock would later add an empty net marker to seal the victory for Team USA.

Team USA 0 Minnesota Duluth 7 (F)

DULUTH, Minn. - Team USA managed 19 shots, but couldn't find the back of the net, as the U.S. National Under-18 Team was bested by the University of Minnesota Duluth, 7-0, at AMSOIL Arena on Jan. 3. Former National Team Development Program forward Kyle Osterberg (Lakeville, Minn./2010-12) factored in three of the Bulldogs goals against Team USA.

After a scoreless first period that saw the Under-18 Team outshoot its opponent, 9-7, Minnesota Duluth scored four unanswered goals in the second stanza. Netminder Blake Weyrick (Ojai, Calif.) was lifted after the third Bulldog goal and made 10 saves total before Edwin Minney (Wind Gap, Pa.) entered the contest. Minney made two saves while giving up one score in relief.

Weyrick reentered the game to start the third period for the U.S., as did former NTDP goaltender Matt McNeely (Burnsville, Minn./2009-11) for Minnesota Duluth. McNeely turned aside four shots in the frame to preserve the team shutout and Team USA fell, 7-0.

With the loss, Team USA completes its recent collegiate swing with a 1-2-0 (W-L-OTL) record.

The Huskies scored first at 7:02 of the opening period. SCSU doubled its lead over the U.S. with just 10 seconds left, converting on a power-play opportunity.
