BENSENVILLE, Ill. - Four different players scored and Thatcher Demko (San Diego, Calif.) and Blake Weyrick (Ojai, Calif.) combined to make 19 saves, as the U.S. National Under-18 Team shut out the Chicago Steel, 4-0, on Feb. 20, at The Edge Ice Arena.

Team USA outshot the Steel, 14-4, in the first frame but it wasn't until Kevin Labanc (Staten Island, N.Y.) scored at 11:20 in the second period that the U.S. found the back of the net. Trevor Hamilton (Grosse Pointe Farms, Mich.) and Clint Lewis (Burnsville, Minn.) assisted on the tally. The U18s doubled its lead, 2-0, just over a minute later off of Hudson Fasching's (Burnsville, Minn.) stick. Shane Eiserman (West Newbury, Mass.) and J.T. Compher (Northbrook, Ill.) registered assists. Tyler Kelleher (Longmeadow, Mass.) struck on the power play to give Team USA a three-goal cushion heading into the third. Steven Santini (Mahopac, N.Y.) and Gage Ausmus (East Grand Forks, Minn.) helped set up the goal.

John Hayden (Greenwich, Conn.) potted a late marker at 19:27 to cap the night. Sean Malone (West Seneca, N.Y.) and Lewis collected assists.

Demko played the first period and turned aside all four shots he faced, while Weyrick came in and kicked out 15 shots in relief. Chicago netminder Alex Sakellaropoulos made 47 saves in the loss.

The U.S. National Under-18 Team continues its three-game road swing on Thursday, Feb. 21, as it takes on the University of Nebraska Omaha. Puck drop is scheduled for 8:37 p.m. EST at the CenturyLink Center.
