INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Blake Weyrick (Ojai, Calif.) made 33 saves, as the U.S. National Under-17 Team earned a point in a 4-3 shootout loss to the Indiana Ice on Feb. 17, 2013, at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.

Team USA grabbed the lead off a strike at 10:24 of the first period. Nolan Stevens (Manhattan Beach, Calif.) found the back of the net with Jack Eichel (North Chelmsford, Mass.) and Chris Wilkie (Omaha, Neb.) registering assists. Weyrick turned aside all 13 shots he faced in the frame.

Anders Bjork (Mequon, Wis.) doubled the U.S. advantage at 2:02 of the second stanza. Sonny Milano (Massapequa, N.Y.) and Louis Belpedio (Skokie, Ill.) helped set up the play. The U17 lead reached three as Ryan MacInnis (St. Louis, Mo.) tallied at 12:28. Milano earned his second helper on the score. Indiana responded less than a minute later to close the gap with Team USA, 3-1. A last second marker by the Ice made it a one-goal game heading into second intermission.

The U.S. gave up a short-handed goal at 14:51 of the third period and the contest ended in a 3-3 tie after regulation.

Team USA earned a power play in the overtime period and put three shots on Indiana netminder Anderson Snair, but was unable to find the game-winning tally.

Milano and Eichel were both stopped in the shootout by Snair, while the two Ice shooters were successful in their attempts on Weyrick. The U.S. fell, 2-0, in the shootout and earned a point in the loss.

The U.S. National Under-17 Team will take the weekend off before hosting the Chicago Steel in back-to-back games (March 2-3) at the Ann Arbor Ice Cube. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. EST on Saturday and 3:30 p.m. on Sunday.
