ANN ARBOR, Mich. - The U.S. National Under-18 Team will once again be featured locally on Comcast when it faces Michigan State University on Jan. 22. Team USA's victory over the University of Michigan on Jan. 4 was previously broadcast on television as well.

The broadcast is scheduled for 7 p.m. EST, while the puck drop will occur at 7:08 p.m. EST. Viewers in the state of Michigan can catch the action on Comcast channel 900.

While the current Under-18 Team roster does not feature players committed to Michigan State, the U.S. National Under-17 Team has one member who has stated his intention to play for the Spartans. Edwin Minney (Wind Gap, Pa.) is the netminder for the U17s and following his time with USA Hockey's National Team Development Program, will suit up between the pipes in East Lansing, Mich.

"I'm really excited for the older guys," said Minney. "Munn Ice Arena has a great atmosphere and the history and traditions there are special. It's part of the reason why I chose Michigan State to further my career after the NTDP."

The broadcast will feature an interview with Don Granato, head coach of the Under-18 Team, as well as a Q&A session with Jim Johannson, assistant executive director of hockey operations for USA Hockey, before the second period.

Notable alumni of both the NTDP and Michigan State University include NHL stars David Booth (Washington, Mich./2001-02) of the Vancouver Canucks, Adam Hall (Kalamazoo, Mich./1997-98) of the Tampa Bay Lightning, John-Michael Liles (Zionsville, Ind./1997-99) of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Corey Potter (Mason, Mich./2000-02) of the Edmonton Oilers.

Team USA has a record of 8-5-4 (W-L-T) against NCAA Division I and III schools so far this season, including ties against college hockey powerhouses Notre Dame (Oct. 7), Minnesota (Oct. 26) and New Hampshire (Dec. 9). The Under-18 Team has claimed victory over Oswego State (Oct. 20), Saint Thomas (Oct. 27), Saint Mary's (Nov. 25), Alabama-Huntsville (Nov. 30), Merrimack College (Dec. 8), Michigan (Jan. 4), MSOE (Jan. 5) and Penn State (Jan. 12).
