Under-18 Team Downs Milwaukee School of Engineering in College Exhibition

ANN ARBOR, Mich. - Evan Allen (Sterling Heights, Mich./1-2) and Tyler Kelleher (Longmeadow, Mass./2-1) had three points each and Will Butcher (Sun Prairie, Wis.) netted two goals, as the U.S. National Under-18 Team downed the Milwaukee School of Engineering, 7-2,  at the Ann Arbor Ice Cube on Jan. 5.

Kelleher opened scoring at 5:43 of the first period. Allen and Connor Clifton (Matawan, N.J.) assisted on the play. Butcher doubled the lead at 9:35, launching a slapshot past Milwaukee netminder Nick Kohn. Kevin Labanc (Staten Island, N.Y.) and Keaton Thompson (Devils Lake, N.D.) collected assists. Team USA extended its lead, 3-0, at 16:22 off Kelleher's second tally. Allen and Clifton teamed up once more to assist on the score. J.T. Compher (Northbrook, Ill.) fed Butcher at 17:43 for his second marker and the U.S. enjoyed a 4-0 advantage heading into first intermission.

Team USA again found the board at 8:21 of the middle frame. Tyler Motte (St. Clair, Mich.) scored from Compher. The Raiders responded 19 seconds later to inch closer to the U.S., 5-1. Sean Malone (West Seneca, N.Y.) struck back for the Under-18 Team at 9:19. Anthony Louis (Winfield, Ill.) registered the lone assist on the play. Allen capped scoring on the night for the U.S. at 15:01. Kelleher and Clint Lewis (Burnsville, Minn.) helped on the marker. Milwaukee added a goal at 15:56 on the power play.

Hunter Miska (North Branch, Minn.) kicked out four saves in the third frame and 13 total, backstopping the U.S. to victory. Kohn and Zach Polak made 26 combined stops in the loss for the Milwaukee School of Engineering.
