PROVIDENCE:  The U18s travel to face the Providence Friars for the third meeting in program history. This will be the U18s fourth collegiate match-up of the season. Team USA is 0-3-0 (W-L-OTL) against NCAA opponents this season.

The Friars are 1-0 after defeating the University of Maine, 7-0 on Oct. 5. Providence is in the Hockey East Conference and last won the conference in 2016 as co-champions. They have 15 NCAA Tournament appearance including advancing to the Frozen Four during the 2019 tournament. Providence won the NCAA National Championship in 2015.

The Friars were chosen to finish third in the Hockey East Preseason Coaches’ Poll and are currently ranked No. 6 in the USCHO Poll.

NTDP alum Patrick Moynihan (NTDP: 2017-19) is a freshman on the Providence team.

THE CRUSADERS: The U18s stay on the East Coast Sunday (Oct. 13) to take on the Holy Cross Crusaders at 4:05 p.m. ET. This will be the fourth meeting between the two programs with the NTDP holding a 3-0 record against the Crusaders. The U18s topped Holy Cross last year (W, 6-3) on New Year’s Day.

Team USA will then travel to Providence on Saturday (Oct. 12) for its first regular-season matchup. They did defeat Simon Fraser, 9-0 in an exhibition on Saturday (Oct. 5). They finished the 2018-19 season with a 10-21-5 record.

Holy Cross, a member of the Atlantic Hockey Conference, has made the NCAA Tournament twice, in 2004 and 2006.

THE LUMBERJACKS:  the U17s continue their USHL schedule this week and open home play at USA Hockey Arena on Friday (Oct. 11) at 7 p.m. ET. The Lumberjacks are currently 0-4-0 (W-L-OTL) in league play.
