MOORE THAN A PERIOD: To wrap the U17s weekend trio, the team stopped in Muskegon Sunday afternoon to complete a previously suspended game against the Muskegon Lumberjacks, which saw the home team up 3-0 after two periods.

In the restart of the game, U17 forward Will Moore (Ithaca, N.Y.) picked up a pair of goals in a valiant comeback effort for the U17s.

After Will Horcoff (Bloomfield Hills, Mich.) got Team USA on the board at 5:14 of the period, Moore brought the squad within a score less than two minutes later. Taking a drop-pass from Drew Schock (Green Bay, Wis.), Moore rifled in a top-shelf wrister from the left circle for his 20th goal of the season.

With less than a minute to play in regulation, Moore got good positioning in the slot and managed to tap in a rebound score off an initial shot from Cullen Potter (Minneapolis, Minn.) to bring the team back within a score, even though they could not find the tying goal.

Moore's 21 goals in 45 games leads the U17 in goal scoring. His 40 total points is tied for third on the team, behind only Potter and team-leader LJ Mooney (West Mifflin, Pa.), who have both produced 42 points.

'CHIP SEASON: With the NCAA's regular season wrapped up, several NTDP alums, both coaches and players, got to raise some trophies for their respective conference championships.

Michigan State won an incredible back-and-forth game over Michigan by a 5-4 final with an overtime goal from unlikely hero Patrick Geary. The Spartans are led by former NTDP head coach Adam Nightingale, and feature a quartet of alums on the roster in goaltenders Trey Augustine and Jon Mor, along with forwards Red Savage and Isaac Howard.

The Denver Pioneers were crowned NCHC conference champions after they took down Omaha by a 4-1 final Saturday night. The Pios roster five NTDP alums in standout defensemen Sean Behrens and Zeev Buium, and forwards Jack Devine and Alex Weiermair.

The biggest contingent of NTDP representation was 'on the Hill' as the Boston College Eagles handled BU by a 6-2 final. A whopping 12 alums were victorious in captain Eamon Powell, fellow blueliners Charlie Leddy, Drew Fortescue, Aidan Hreschuk, and Aram Minnetian. Up front, Will Smith had a four-point game in the final to take home the Tournament MVP award. He was helped out by Cutter Gauthier, Andre Gasseau, Ryan Leonard, Gabe Perreault and Will Vote. Rounding out the dozen is assistant coach Brent Darnell, in his first season on the bench for BC.
